UMI Signature Suite living room with a view of Eyjafjallajökull glacier

Three new ways to stay at Umi. More space, more stillness, and the South Coast right outside the window.

More room to slow down

Umi sits between the mountains and the sea. On one side, Eyjafjallajökull glacier. On the other, the open Atlantic and our own black sand beach.

We have always wanted the rooms to feel like part of that landscape. Now we have three new ones that take the idea a little further.

Each is bigger than the last. Each brings the view a little closer.

Deluxe King Room

The Deluxe King Room is 30 m² of calm. Natural textures, warm tones and nothing that doesn't need to be there.

The big windows look toward the Atlantic or the glacier, depending on the room. A DUX bed waits for you after a long day on the South Coast.

There's a seating area for a quiet evening, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a flatscreen TV with speakers.

In the morning, breakfast is ready when you are. Take your time before heading out.

Premium King Room

The Premium King Room gives you 46 m² built around light and the horizon.

At its heart is a freestanding bathtub. Fill it up, sink in, and watch the Atlantic through the window. It's hard to think of a better way to end a day of waterfalls and black sand.

There's a comfortable seating area, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, a flatscreen TV and speakers.

The fridge and minibar are stocked with soft drinks, beer, and red and white wine.

On the ground floor, these rooms open straight onto a private patio. Step outside and you're in the fresh air.

UMI Signature Suite

This is our most exclusive stay. 65 m² of space and privacy, for up to four guests.

The glacier rises in one direction. The ocean stretches out in the other.

Step out onto your own large terrace. Warm up in your private sauna. Then sink into your outdoor hot tub and let South Iceland go quiet around you.

Inside, there's a separate bedroom with its own bathroom, plus a guest toilet. The living room has a sofa, a dining area and a kitchenette. It's a place to settle in, not just to sleep.

The fridge and minibar are stocked, so there's no reason to leave unless you want to.

Room for everyone

Travelling as a family or a group? The Signature Suite connects to the rooms next to it.

With two connecting rooms, it becomes 126 m². In its largest form, it reaches 198 m², with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Everyone stays together. Everyone still has their own space.

When the sky lights up

On clear winter nights, the northern lights can roll over the South Coast.

From the Signature Suite, you can watch them from your own terrace, or from the hot tub. No crowds, no car, no cold walk back.

We can't promise the aurora. But we can promise a good seat.

Your stay at Umi

Every room comes with everything that makes Umi, Umi. The restaurant and bar. The saunas and yoga room. Massage. Bikes to borrow. And the black sand beach a short walk away.

Umi is a Michelin Key hotel, near Hvolsvöllur on Iceland's South Coast.

Come for a night. Stay a little longer.
