Quiet luxury in South Iceland.

"We found UMI hotel by chance, looking for a place close to the sites in the south of Iceland. The location was convenient, close to several waterfalls and within easy driving range of the glacier lagoon, Vik etc. UMI hotel is situated in a beautiful isolator area between the mountain and the sea, app. 1 km from the Ringroad. There were a lot of snow, ice and strong winds and we still had a magical two-night stay with snowy walks and good food. The service is very professional, friendly staff who helped us with everything from directions to shoveling snow in front of our car. We would definitely stay there again."

Boutique and Unique!

"We LOVED this place. So pretty and perfectly situated. The design and atmosphere just beautiful. Food (as good as any Michelin recommended) and service (Jacob and his wife and other staff) superb. Had specialty cocktails along with great conversation with Jacob at the bar which really made the stay special. Wish we could have stayed 2 nights; if ever given the opportunity, we will go back! Foot bridge was washed out so we did not walk to beach (they are fixing) but took a very pretty walk up the road to see the horses. They also have plans to install saunas soon! (Room too warm...even w window open.. so only gave 4 stars for sleep quality.) Breakfast spread is good and plentiful w many choices...included in price. I will tell all our friends to stay here!! Did I tell you we loved it?!!? Summers get busy with tour groups so book way out...it was not full however for us in March. PS They do wake up calls for Northern Lights!"
